There is a travel alerts page which includes weather, travel and health warnings across the globe. They also link across to the World Health Organisation (WHO) for travel safety and health advice.

The site gives a brief overview of main issues but does not have in-depth articles or travel advice.

How easy is it to get an online quote? Here we evaluate how insurance quotes are given and the time it takes to get a quote..

The quotation tool only asks for minimal information and quickly comes up with 5 plans to compare.  These plans show the main compensation levels across each criterion but do not include the prices of each travel insurance plan.

For this you need to click on an individual policy and complete a more detailed form.
You are then given a very well presented summary of your plan along with the cost, which you can then purchase directly there and then. The system works speedily but does not enable consumers to compare prices of separate policies without filling out a form for each one.  It would have been better to input more information upfront and to have had the cost included at the comparisons stage.

The basic plan includes trip interruption, trip cancellation, missed connection, baggage delay, medical evaluations and expenses.

There are 6 plans to choose between all with different benefits and levels of cover. Additional international insurance cover includes identity theft, medical cover for pets, free kids cover, damage to rental cars and more.

Why is it different to other insurance sites? We graded on originality and innovation..
The site is well designed and very easy to use, however, it lacks articles, interaction and multimedia and although it does a good job, the range of services and the potential of the site could be enhanced further.
