BCBSA started selling health plans back in 1929. Today their local network of companies provide healthcare for one in three Americans.

So here they are in the twenty-first century still offering health insurance, although this time over the net.Â Dozeninsurance.com took a look at their site to review what they had on offer.

Health care plans

BSBSA healthcare plans include a range of plans across the US as well as those that are valid for travelers going abroad.

The plans are listed and expanded upon but we found the explanations very technical, making the site less user friendly than many others.

You can search for doctors and medical insurance providers but overall there are fewer search functions on this site than other medical insurance sites we visited. You can filter the search with specialisms, languages spoken and other criteria.
