State Farm offers insurance, investment and banking services. The insurance covers home, car, health and life, as well as business insurance.

The range of categories is broad but the variety of policies is lagging behind other sites, for example some sites have special policies for ATV and commercial cars.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

The navigation is clear, quick and simple to use.  There is a lot of information on this site, such as the learning centre with insurance advice and calculation tools.  The navigation manages to direct viewers to where they need to be with minimum fuss.

The site itself is very functional but cold and stark. When compared to top dogs such as Geico, it lacks graphics and color.

How easy is it to get an online quote? Here we evaluate how insurance quotes are given and the time it takes to get a quote..
The quote tool was detailed but we managed to trawl through fairly quickly. It gives information at the end and then refers to an agent to complete the deal, check information and apply available discounts.  The service is not available across all States.

Are there online discounts and deals here? Does the site offer savings for returning customers? We graded the extra value you can get for your buck..
The car insurance online service gave a range of discounts including a good driving safety record, taking out multi policies with State Farm and having a good student record.  These were featured on a discounts page.

There is a FAQ feature that allows you to type in any question and highlights answers to questions in that area.  You can also get support via email, phone or mail, however, if they want to stand aside the main players, State Farm need live chat.
