Quality of the information. Here we look at the quality of the insurance information and posts on the blog. Is the language easy to follow? Have they been able to make insurance interesting?.

Pet Health Insurance Blog

We dislike the overly personal style of this blog as it seems at odds with the business focused nature of the site. The site is full of links to the main insurance site and is also full of advertisements.

The style however is quite intimate, with personal anecdotes about dogs playing with kids toys (yes really) and pictures of angry looking cats.

This is hardly riveting stuff.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

The navigation is via filters such as categories, archives and recent posts. There is some sloppy housekeeping though with one category written in twice as well as categories for similar topics that could be merged (‘pampered pets’ and ‘pets are family’). A sure case of ‘could do better’.

Who writes this blog? Is it one person or a group of consumers? We looked at the description or bio of the bloggers to find out who or what company is behind this blog?.

The About Us says nothing about the faces behind the blog, which is strange when you consider how personal many of the threads are.

Why is it different to other insurance blogs? We graded on originality and innovation..

The subject matter hardly sets the world alight and the site itself contains errors and is hardly cutting edge. The only plus of this site is their linkage to videos and podcasts.

Size isn't everything, but it counts right? Here we looked at the length of the posts..

With subject matter as lifeless as this one paragraph seems too long. This is a clear case of size not mattering as the substance is way too weak.

How interactive is this site? Is there a Facebook Group? Twitter? RSS feeds? Linked In? Forum? We found out..

There is an RSS feed but that’s about it.

What else can I do here? We gave extra points to sites with RSS feeds, images, video, mobile and audio..

There are links to YouTube videos and company pod casts on this site. There is also a video on the ‘About this blog’ page but this failed to start.

Can you contact the site with queries? This grades the email support and telephone contacts available to users..

There appear to be regular blogs judging by the numbers in the archives for each month, but we disliked the fact that each entry is undated so you can’t really get a feel for currency when you enter the site.
